My name is Miriam Jacques. I was born in Gwo Jan and live here with my family. I am 30 years old. My family doesn’t have the means to continue with everything I would like to do because the country of Haiti is not easy, but I accept this totally. My mother went through much misery to educate her four children; one girl and three boys.
I haven’t finished high school yet. I have two years left to finish. My dream is to finish school and go to nursing school in Canada. I have had this dream in my heart for a long time. It is not easy to pay for university in Haiti. I know, with you, who want give your help for tomorrow, we can be useful to my country. It is a great source of pride to me to learn nursing so I can take care of the sick and my friends and family.
I already want to say a big thank you for everyone who is reading this message and who may be thinking in a positive way for us to perhaps make these dreams come true. We won’t give up, even when things seem so difficult. Thank you!
