Bonjou! My name is Jean-David Baptiste. I am 27 years old. I am from Nippe, but I live in Gwo Jan with my wife Anne and son Ralph, he is 5 years old. My mom died in 2004, and my father died in 2011. They were the ones who would support me, so it has been more difficult for me now that they’re gone.
I haven’t finished high school yet, but I would like to go back to school this year. I have 2 years left. It is difficult for me to go to school now because I am working to provide for my family and I am trying to build a house for us here in Gwo Jan. I know education is important and it will open up many more opportunities for me, so I am determined to finish. I would like to find a night school so I can still work during the day.
After high school, my dream is to go to university to study communications and public relations. I want to study these subjects because I want to always be able to understand and connect with people. I would use this education to work for an organization in Haiti that is seriously working to help people here.
It would be a great chance for me in my life to be able to learn and realize these dreams. Your help will also permit me to help other people with what I learn. Thank you, and I ask God to bless you and your family.
